Step 1: Each fold has a dieline available for purchase and includes a packaged file with the specified dieline and “Read Me” Instructions. Some of our folds offer a blank white sample so you can see and feel the fold as you’re designing it. If a blank folded sample is available, it will be in the drop menu.

Ordering a comp is a great way to present your idea, confirm art placement, color and composition before placing your print order. Think of a comp as an appetizer to your main order, it gives you a taste of what the final piece will look like and allows you room to make adjustments before ordering your final printed piece. PDF SOFT PROOF: The digital PDF soft proof will be uploaded to your order. There is no additional cost to receive a soft proof. This is a great opportunity to check the layout, bleeds, crop marks and final text. If you need to confirm color, a soft proof is not an accurate representation of your printed piece. If your piece is color-critical, please order a hard proof.
HARD PROOF: Ready to move forward with your order but would like to confirm color-critical art before the large run prints? A hard proof is what you’re looking for. Hard copy proofs show a reasonable likeliness to the final printed piece. The main purpose of a hard proof is to show color and does require an additional fee. Hard proofs are available in the U.S. only. Once you review and approve your hard proof, your main print order will go into production. Hard proofs are laser cut.

When you purchase and download your dieline, the packaged file will contain the file set up requirements needed. The dieline is sized appropriately, however you will need to add 1/8” bleed on all sides. Please design with high resolution images and make sure your fonts and links are packaged in the final PDF you use to place your order. Still have questions? We’re happy to help. Need an instant price on one of our Super Cool Folds? No problem! We have online quoting tool for each of our products. To get an instant quote, first click on the fold you want to see pricing for. Next, click on the third option under the video of the fold labeled “Quote and Place Your Order”. (Will include screenshot) This will direct you to an online calculator where you can choose your paper stock, color, quantity, finishing option, and production time. Once you’ve input this information, at the bottom of the calculator, you’ll be given an instant price. Of course! We have a team of talented designers ready to serve you. Simply visit our Graphic Design Services product and purchase 30 minutes of design time. Your design project could be as small as a minor change or as large as designing an entire marketing package from scratch. Upon checkout, you’ll be asked if you have files to upload. If you do not have reference files to share with us, simply select “I will upload my file(s) later” to continue. A designer will reach out to you to being the design consultation.
Click on the template builder tab at the top of the page or follow this link: https://www.foldfactory.com/pages/template-builder After you have signed up for an account or have signed in, you can start creating your very own custom template for a brochure or folded piece. The first thing you will want to do is select the fold that you’d like, there are 6 standard fold types to choose from. Once you have chosen your fold type, you’ll be able to modify the folding style if you wish, by clicking on and off of the different options available. The next step is to input your folded size, and you can do so by entering the w x h dimension in the available boxes. Or, we can create the template based on the desired sheet size if you click the “Flat Size” tab and insert the w x h of the sheet. From there you can click the animate button to see a short video of your brochure and how it folds. You many need to allow adobe Flash player to get this feature. If you are happy with your settings, click the “Build Template” button. From there you’ll be able to download your template and start creating your piece. Or, go back to start and make another—your access is unlimited! When you are ready to have your unique piece printed and produced, contact email@example.com for a quote.
After you’ve made your dieline purchase, a pop up containing the dieline will appear on your screen directly after you complete your order.

No! If you choose “I want the dieline and sample” from the drop-down menu and live in the United States, we ship the sample to you for free! The free sample option will be preselected for you at checkout. If you live outside of the United States, shipping will be charged.
Our Super Cool Folds are created using a die. A die is a sharp, thin steel blade that has been formed to a specific size and shape. Each one of our Super Cool Folds has its own custom die that we use to produce the piece. Using a die is a faster way of cutting the pieces and ensuring each one will be the exact same size and shape time and time again. If you need a custom size, we will need to have a new die created to your custom size which will be an additional cost.
Absolutely! We offer First Class and Standard rate mail services. We can assist you in purchasing a mailing list and have variable data (text and/or image) printing services as well.

Your production timeline begins once you approve your proof. Production time is how long it takes to produce your order and does not include shipment transit time.
Timeline Example: An order is placed Monday morning with a PDF soft proof and a 5 business day production time. The PDF soft proof will be supplied within 24 hours, though we strive to provide them within 4 hours. Proofs are processed during our normal business hours of 8am to 5pm CST, Monday through Friday. Proofs must be approved by 9am to count as the first production day. The proof in this example is approved on Tuesday at 8am, making Tuesday production day #1. This order will ship on the following Monday, 5 business days after proof approval. We supply shipment notifications and tracking details once the order leaves our facility, shipping transit time varies based on the method selected at checkout.
